I haven't been cold since 1975! As my good ol' buddy Bob Polcyn would say "This is just for funzies, right?" If I owe anyone anything, we are beyond any legal obligation limit. My St. Rita high school days were trying and confusing at times, but overall good. I was too much of a green-horn and wasteful with my time and energy. But, I have to say that I learned responsibility, respect for others and many things that I should avoid. Negative reinforcement probably kept me in-line more than most other Rita-men. Great school and faculty. I owe the school for their tolerance and if you can believe it, compassion. I should have done more and listened more to their teachings and direction. My mistake! I do miss Quicker, Foler, Cabbagehead, Metz, the Mo-gang, Cookieman and many, many, more of the Wood St & Marquette Park gangs. May God bless everyone and I'm sorry if I did you wrong. Truly, I am. I was probably drinking and didn't know any better and I was too young. Most likely someone else made me do it. I gotta admit that "Little Flower girls were the prettiest!" I had a blast during those years, near and around Wood Street. Many fine families, parents and kids. The energy around Wood Street on weekends and some week nights was similar to a festival. Unbelievable! I miss some people and relationships but not the weather in Chi-town.
